There is a number of ways to get a functional BitCoin (BTC) Wallet. The easiest and quickest of which would be to use an 'online wallet'. The best hands down online wallet is the BlockChain.info Wallet. Click the link to be taken directly to the new wallet page.

A slightly more advanced option would be to use a 'Light Wallet'. These wallets are programs you install which give you great control over your wallet. You can take it and transfer it amongst devices. The Light Wallet i recommend is MultiBit. These 'Light Wallets' have the added bonus of NOT needing to download the 20GB Blockchain.

Finally the last option is to get the actual Official BitCoin Core Client. This is the most advanced option and will require an astronomical 20GB for the full blockchain.
